A Bit About Me.I have been working at Lethbridge College in the Multimedia Production program for 18 years and love my career. I teach mainly the web coding and graphic design courses, which encompasses UX and UI. We have a big job in education currently as we think about how to create a positive and social online student experiences. Taking my Master's of Educational Technology at UBC has turned out to be a very timely endeavour and I have seen positive impact on my teaching as we move online.
I believe that learners are best served when instructors offer different modes of learning and apply principles of variety learning theories. I still am very much rooted in the constructivist camp but I see value in applying principles of cognitivism, behaviourism, and neural theories to classroom instruction as well. I enjoy tinkering with my lessons, making them better every year. The more I study and learn, the better I am able to make my lessons. A goal for me is to make the learning personal, authentic, and relevant. |
